RiNo

Thanks to a re-urbanization of the city’s central core, Denver now has name-worthy neighborhoods with flavors that are all their own – River North (RiNo)

From The Denver Post:

Fanny packs, binoculars, sunscreen on the noses and other stereotypical attributes of tourists may soon be filing the River North neighborhood.

The arts neighborhood was listed Tuesday as one of the top 10 neighborhoods to visit in the U.S. by Lonely Planet. The travel-guide publisher put RiNo right up there with Austin’s South First Street and Montavilla in Portland, Ore.

The list was created by asking U.S.-based travel experts and locals who picked the most up-and-coming neighborhoods in their cities. Lonely Planet contributor Greg Benchwick wrote that RiNo still holds onto its punk-rock past through street murals, experimental galleries, food halls and microbrews.
